Preparatory course for the theoretical entrance exam to the Pop Academy Baden-Wuerttemberg

Course Syllabus

• Notation of chords in root position (major, minor, diminished, augmented, tetrachords)
• Ear training:
• Diatonic hearing
• Melodic dictation
• Recognition and identification of triads and tetrachords
• Scale-step hearing and analysis of four-bar chord progressions
• Rhythmic dictation in eighths
• Song analysis (verse, chorus, bridge)
• Explanation of musical therms e.g. unison, binary, crescendo etc.

Course Objective

The participants receive an overall impression concerning the demands of the theoretical entrance exam at the Pop Academy Baden-Wuerttemberg.
The course syllabus is in line with the actual exam questions which are dealt with in many execises.
